In Duras itself, there is a beautiful Castle that is well worth taking a tour of and also a museum of old parchments that is remarkably interesting. A bit further afield is Bergerac, home of the soldier, philosopher and writer Cyrano de Bergerac who was best known as the subject of Edmond Rostand's 1897 play of the same title.
